Community Projects
The Beacon Project, part of the Ministry of St John's Mansfield supports the homeless and disadvantaged, and is run by the local charity Beacon Management Group, and had been using the old St John's Church Hall as a drop–in centre providing advice, guidance and support for homeless people in the area. However the dining hall, with its associated kitchen, toilets and storage facilities, had clearly seen better days, was cold in the winter and had some fairly dilapidated decoration, flooring, fixtures, fittings and furniture.
In the first instance it was necessary to get design assistance to ensure Beacon Group's vision for the project could be realised including compliance with modern standards and obtaining all necessary statutory approvals. Eclipse Design had recently offered support and was quickly recruited to help here.
